My Great Summer Ideas

Ok, maybe they’re not ALL my ideas.  But they are definitely things we’ve done to enjoy and relish our long summer days.

1. Climb A Tree

Our rule...keep three points (of hands and feet) on the tree at all times. For the most part. Sometimes. Unless you're jumping.

2. Pick Berries

Pick, weigh, pay, eat. Yum.

3. Have a family barbecue in the park

Don't forget to play horseshoes, baseball and ultimate ninja!

Spending time with family is such a great way to spend the summer!

4. Walk around with a pool on your head

Nobody said my kids were normal...

Wait…what????

5. Oh…I mean, Create a waterslide with your backyard play structure and inflatable pool.

Don't forget to hook the hose around the handle at the top so the water runs down the slide. It's essential.

6. Paint everything in sight (with washable paints, of course).  Hair…check.  Toes…check.  Cardboard…check.

Don't forget to paint the play structure, the firepit, cement and (of course) your ears. But wash it off right away or the sun will bake it on and make it not-so-washable.

7. Stare at worms in the front yard…with your bike helmet on.

Safety first!!

8. Go to the beach.

Oregon coast in the summer. Sun? No. Sweatshirts? Yes.

9. Have a campfire.

Hot cocoa, smores, and dogs roasted on the fire (hot dogs, not real dogs, geez!)

10. Attempt to build a sandcastle.

Don't forget the water! We need more water! Oh...the ocean is right there. Phew!

 11.  Climb on rocks.

Such a ham!!

12. Build a monstrous train track.

When you need a break from the sun and the pool...

13. Play with friends.

Friends since birth. The very best.

14. Host impromptu karaoke.

It helps to have a guitar player (or piano or oboe or triangle)

15.  Make popsicles.

Fill bottom with lemonade. Freeze. Add Blueberry Pomegranate V-Fusion. Freeze. Add more Lemonade and sticks. Freeze. Enjoy on a hot day!

16.  Potty train that toddler!

Take your supplies to the backyard, strip off their clothes and get to it! Accidents aren't as traumatic in the grass. And it's much easier to pee when you don't have to mess with pulling down those pants. Just don't forget to sunscreen the tender bits!!

17.  Have fun!

We have lots of fun. Lots and lots.
