Easy Does It

I’ve has about a hundred projects sitting around waiting for me to finish.  This month being “Finish Your Crapload of Unfinished Projects Month” has made me up and do something about it.

One of the projects that has been on my list for a long time has been making a garland for Ellie’s room.  I just wanted something to pull everything together and complete the look.  {Curtains would help that too, I guess…}

First I was planning a pennant banner like this one.

Then I decided to make a heart banner like I appliqued on her comforter.

But I just never was up for all the ironing and sewing it would take.  I’m a lazy procrastinator, I know.

Then I got a message from heaven in the form of my daily Pick Your Plum email.  Rainbow pom pom ribbon for a super great discount!  No sewing, no cutting and it looks so festive and fun!  If you haven’t checked out Pick Your Plum, you should.  They offer craft, sewing and DIY supplies {and some already made goodies too!} for a fraction of the craft store price.

When the pom poms arrived I was giddy with project finishing excitement!!

I hung one strand of each of the six colors from the corners of the walls to her chandelier in the middle of her ceiling.  High enough that nothing would catch, but low enough that it kind of feels like you are in a big top tent.

It was the perfect 20 minute project.  I’m sure it would have only taken 10 minutes if the Ellie and her friends weren’t trying to play in the room at the same time I was trying to pin these up.

It was super easy.  Pom pom ribbon, thumb tacks and a step stool.  With so many project started and needing to be finished, easy has been the way to go for me lately.
