Make Christmas Count For Xander

I recently read about the most amazing fundraiser.  Through Reece’s Rainbow, blogger liferearranged is raising money for this little cutie’s adoption.

Readers, meet Xander.  Xander lives in an orphanage in Eastern Europe and, as those beautiful almond eyes suggest, he has Down’s Syndrome.  This itty bitty little bundle of love is waiting in a crib on the other side of the world for a Mama and a Daddy to come in, pick him up in their arms and take him home.  To a room all his own.  To a house full of love.  To a life full of hugs and “I Love You”s and reminders that he is not alone.  He is waiting for his family, whoever they are, to come and get him and bring him H-O-M-E.

And there are families out there who have an empty spot at their table.  Families who are missing a member.  They know it.  They ache because of it.  They have a hole in their hearts because they want to badly to run across the world and scoop up little Xander and hold him forever.  But they cannot, because they don’t have the money it takes to bring him home.

Money.  It keeps fatherless children alone.  It keeps cradles empty.  It is the largest hurdle to overcome in international adoption.  Families who want to bring these children home cannot because of money.

That’s where we come in.  Through Reece’s Rainbow we can raise funds to help pay for Xander’s adoption.  So when that day comes when the family that he is meant to have wants to bring him home, they can be blessed by a partially (or fully…could you imagine??!) funded adoption.

Liferearranged did a fundraiser last year for a boy named Cliff and this is what she writes:

After all, last Christmas, $5 at a time, we made a difference for Cliff and raised almost $9,500…Cliff who is now Joshua and has a mama, a daddy, three brothers and a whole host of grandmas and aunts and uncles.

Cliff…who now has a mama and a daddy.  Cliff now has brothers and grandmas and a home.  Cliff who is now Joshua…a boy with a new name and a new family and hope.  $9500 was raised for that little boy.  $9500 was made available to any family who wanted to adopt him.  $9500 was given by blog readers like you.  $5 at a time.

This Christmas consider helping give Xander hope for a family all his own.

Let’s gather together and help give Xander the home and family he’s been dreaming of.

Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.  James 1:27
